WHAT a week, good friends, a busy fly shop and a whole mess of big browns.

Chad’s personal best streamer fish capped it off but we have had reports and seen pictures of half a dozen 2’ fish and many more trophies.

Jonathon, a friend of Bill Thorne’s, purchased a new BVK 8wt reel and sinking line and 3 streamers for his first crack at streamer fishing yesterday and finished with a 23” fish. We have also had some great reports from drift fishers up by Bull Shoals Dam too.

This weekend should be a whole lot of fun, we have a bunch of guides on the river but we still have a few seats left if you want to join the action, no matter whether you are trophy hunting or just after some fun fly fishing.

WHITE RIVER: Cooler temperatures this week, plus a dab of rain last Saturday night has developed some consistent flows through the middle of the week. Cooler temperatures are expected to continue through the weekend but with the lake getting back close to power pool we will have to wait and see,

Certainly the brown trout bite has picked up with more fish coming off the spawn. Better colors are still tan, yellow, black and white. We have added some new patterns to our streamers stocks over the past week so drop in and check them out.

On the higher flows at the Dam, have some deep and unweighted flies to pick off the shad. Running a Hippie Chick Shad ahead of a Dynamite Worm, or San Juan Worm is a good each way approach.

Davy’s Sowbug in gray is also a strong combination with a Dynamite Worm.
