Decided to go back down on Thursday for a few hours. Put in at State Park Marina around 7:30 am…wanted to see if the same pattern was working from where I launch down to the bridge. Fished around Masters and Cedar Ridge and some of the bigger pockets.
Was concentrating on the back 1/3rd of the pocket where the last deep water bank was that has good chunk rock and wind blowing in on it. No cloud cover so I worked shaded banks as long as I could. Water ranged from 51-53 degrees. Caught most on a s-bait and a few shorts on a 3/8oz Finesse Jig (Brown with GP Candy vibe craw).
About noon and only catching about 8 fish I ran back up to the darn area where I fished on Monday and immediately caught 2 on a s-bait again…got off the water at 1:30p. Had around 10 fish for the day with 3 or 4 keepers. Lot tougher than Monday for me…could of been location and having sunny skies. Going back on Sunday out of Orleans Trail and will probably stay in the darn area as water is still a little warmer…may run a little past the mile long bridge as well. Here is a video highlighting my day. Thanks and if you see a white and teal/green Skeeter come by and say hi. Jeremy
