Tried a little night fishing last night up by the dam.  It has been a while since I have wade fished up there and I was anticipating a crowd.  Pulled into the lot by the boat launch right around 9pm and did not see another vehicle. Water was off and I started in the moving water dust above and across from Trophy Run stripping white mink sculpins.  Tried fast stripping, slow stripping, dead drifting, and everything in between.  Nothing, nadda, zero!

Crossed over and went up to right in front of the boat launch. The water might have been knee deep at deepest point there above Trophy Run, but a pretty good current. Water was quite a bit slower across from boat launch and fish were surfacing.  Changed over to a black pine squirrel and started stripping fast.  Bingo! Fish on!  Started getting hits or landing fish on just about every cast. Worked my way up to about 100 yards above the boat ramp just fan casting the water. Most takes came on a faster retrieve and none caught on a dead drift.  Fished till about 11 pm and landed 16.

If you want to beat the heat and the crowds, try some night fishing!
