Got out on the lake this evening–boy what a nice day we had here.  They were running one full unit when I boated up to Lookout at 6:30 pm.  I fly rodded it, using a #14 red zebra under an indicator 4 feet deep and worked the current edge against the bluff bank for a while.  Picked up a couple of rainbows and one small brown trout.

Switched to a 1/8th oz sculpin jig.  The wind was a little stiff for a jig so I went back to the fly rod.  Tried a beaded scud – nothing.

Boated back up to Lookout and threw a jig again.  The wind had lied down and… it just seemed right.  Nothing.  So back to the fly rod.  Tied on a 1/125th oz brown jig with an orange head, 4 feet deep and started catching rainbows.  Set the boat half way across the lake and tried to keep my jig in 4-5 feet of water.

I’ll let my call in report tell the rest.
