Spring River fishing report, July 3

Water levels are running at 290 at the spring and water clarity is clear. The trout have been biting well early in the day and have been slowing on the bite during the heat of the day. Woolly buggers, Guppies and Grandma’s Brownies have been the hot flies this week. White rooster tails and purple haze trout magnets are working great also. If walleye is the fish of choice, trout cranks that are colored like cutthroat and rainbow trout fished at night are productive. If you get too hot fishing the Spring River then just fall in. The river feels great in this heat.
